Because of our limited resources and small staff, we rely heavily on our dedicated interns and volunteers to assist us in fulfilling our important work. Our interns provide an important service to our organization and we strive to make the experience beneficial for our interns as well. American Conservation Experience

ACE EPIC Internships and Fellowships program provide recent graduates with focused, hands-on opportunities to work alongside and under the guidance of agency mentors and to apply their knowledge of resource management on actual projects and programs as they develop and emerge as the next generation of resource and land managers. ACE EPIC operates in coalition with partners such as the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Forest Service, and other conservation focused groups to place interns within the operating structure of these organizations. Children's Justice Center

Responsibilities:

There are 1-2 positions for interns interested in becoming familiarized with child abuse investigations and the criminal justice system. Position requires a criminal and child abuse background check. Intern will work a minimum of 9 hours. 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The Children’s Justice Center is a home-like facility that serves children who have been physically or sexually abused. The CJC is designed to help children feel safe and comfortable while they and their parents meet with child abuse investigators. The CJC coordinates with involved agencies to ensure that cases are approached with the child’s best interest in mind and to increase the effectiveness of protecting children. The CJC strives to reduce trauma and to help children and their families recover from a difficult experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: 1. Make follow-up calls to parents to check on the wellbeing of the child victim. 2. Interact with the professionals involved in child abuse investigations. 3. Assist CJC staff as needed with special projects and light office work. 4. Interact with children while they await services at the CJC. 5. Promote victim resources and help make them available to clients. 6. Assist clinical staff in advocating for client needs

Internship(s) Available: Varies. Fit to Recover has four main pillars including fitness, nutrition, community, and creative arts, so internships typically work in one of these 4 categories, but other projects may be available depending on an intern's interests and skills.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities also vary depending on the intern's interests, but some examples of tasks and responsibilities include working with the community to provide resources for homeless individuals, creating meals and helping people develop a more positive relationship with food, doing theraputic art, and analyzing data to better understand program outcomes.

The COE internship is for graduate and undergraduate students. Graduate Internship: 15 weeks, 20 hours/week (300 total) Undergraduate internship: 15 weeks, 10-15 hours/week (150-225 total) *Interns can expect 50% of their internship to be done virtually/remote.

A new cohort of interns is accepted 3 times per year:

Community Centers have offered English as a Second Language Classes (ESL) and Basic Computer Skills Classes to hundreds of parents in a period of a few years impacting positively the lives of parents and children of the district. The recipients of these programs have been parents that due to many life circumstances in their countries of origin never had the chance to be instructed in English, Basic Computer abilities, or parenting classes. The end results are showing that it is absolutely necessary for the parents to be familiar with the computer and the English language so they can assist their children with school work and the fluid communications that must exist between parents, teachers, and administrators of the school system. SWCA Environmental Consultants’ Salt Lake City office provides internship opportunities to qualified Anthropology majors (archaeology focus) during the summer field season. Interns perform fieldwork, laboratory work, and other tasks under the direction of staff field technicians, Field Managers, Project Managers, and/or Principal Investigator.
Training: Successful completion of coursework in Fundamentals of Archaeology (ANTH 4341) or Cultural Resources Management (ANTH 4345) required. Completion of an archaeology field school or comparable experience preferred.  The ability to conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and at high altitudes, is required. The ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required.

Zions Bank has several internship opportunities available and aims to employ a diverse pool of students from various colleges and universities. Full-time, paid intern positions are primarily in the Salt Lake area and begin in June and end the last week of August. A summer internship gives students the chance to explore the banking industry and the Zions Bank community culture. Interns have an opportunity to use and apply their coursework in a "real life" environment. They’re encouraged to think critically and to constantly redefine the content and process of the learning experience.
