Internships for International Students

For international students on visa who are seeking internship opportunities, please follow these steps: 

1. Review the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Policy Guide. It is imperative to review the rules and regulations surrounding internship opportunities to ensure your visa status remains in good standing. Failure to comply with rules and regulations may impact your current or future visa status. 

2. Meet with an ISSS advisor to review CPT guidelines and confirm your internship semester and plans. 

3. Meet with a CSBS Internship Advisor to begin the process of finding and securing an internship. 

4. Your CPT application MUST be submitted AT LEAST TWO WEEKS before the add/drop date of the semester you are seeking an internship. You can find add/drop dates via the academic calendars published here. The Associate Director of Internship Programming can be listed as your advisor for the CPT form. Please contact the Associate Director before submitting your CPT form.
